“I attended the 7:30 show last night with three friends.  I have attended many Broadway Series shows and have never seen one better than the locally produced Patsy Cline Always.  I am not a Patsy Cline fan, per se, but I very much enjoyed the unbelievably fabulous voice of Emily Herring and the endearing and extraordinary acting of Celeste Burnum.  The band was also good enough to stand on its own.  I do not know how a show gets to tour nationally, but if one ever deserved (needed) to, Patsy Cline Always certainly does.  Thank you for providing such great theatre in Birmingham!”

“My husband and I attended Friday night’s performance of Always Patsy Cline. We think it surpasses even New York’s Broadway shows. We were sad to see the performance end because we found the characters and music to be so thoroughly entertaining. We would attend it again just to experience the quality work done by every individual involved with this excellent ‘theatre’ piece. Let us know WHEN it goes national…. If it has been video taped, we would love to buy a copy to watch again and again.”

"Emily is such a gifted teacher with a wealth of experience. She is patient, encouraging, and always knows how to push me to be my best. Under her guidance, I have learned how to control my voice, project my sound, and sing with confidence. But more than just teaching me how to sing, Emily has also helped me to build my self-confidence and believe in myself. She has taught me that I am capable of anything I set my mind to, and that I should never give up. No matter where you are on your vocal journey, I highly recommend working with Emily. She is a true professional, and she will help you to achieve your goals."

Emily has been an incredible support and mentor to me. Emily has a special gift for working with international students learning English as a second language. Her patience and kindness have helped me to grow as a performer and always make me feel home.
Emily's passion for music is contagious. She is always eager to recommend great songs to sing and her song selections have helped me to develop my voice and style. She has also helped me to find my own voice as a singer.
Above all, Emily's warmth and kindness have made a lasting impression on me. She creates a safe and supportive environment for her students to learn and grow, and I am grateful for the time I have spent learning from her.
I highly recommend Emily as a singing teacher to anyone looking for an exceptional and caring mentor.

My name is Maci Arms and I graduated from UA as a dance major in 2014. I was a voice student of Emily's for all of the 2013-2014 school year, and as a dancer who was essentially "re-learning" how to sing, I couldn't have asked for a better voice teacher. Working with Emily not only gave me the proper techniques to sing, but she helped me find songs that would fit my voice, as well as helped me to feel comfortable and confident with my voice. She pushed me out of my comfort zone by challenging and preparing me to audition for SETC as well as helping me prepare for other auditions during my time at UA. She even continued to help me after I graduated by recommending a vocal coach for me to see in NYC, Phi Hall, whom I still see to this day.

I can honestly say my voice improved greatly when I was working with Emily, and I hope that other students will continue to learn and grow from her at UA.
